From the New York Times–composer David Stock’s music and an interview with the composer is slated for broadcast on New York Public Media’s WNET in 2013. The innovative educational series on classical music was championed by Gerard Schwarz, Conductor Emeritus of the Seattle Symphony. For the project, an All-Star Orchestra was assembled of musicians from some of America’s most venerated musical institutions to record Stock’s Blast! for Orchestra among pivotal works by other celebrated composers, both past and present.
On October 4th and 7th, Stock also enjoyed the world premiere of his double violin concerto Taking Sides, featuring Ani and Ida Kavafian with the New Haven Symphony conducted by William Boughton. David Stock’s music is available from Keiser Classical.
